OLW: Joy

by michellefilo 4. July 2009 03:53

For the one little word prompt this week: Joy.

joy

Everything by CD Muckosky except background paper by Michelle Coleman.

Now, I think this page is cute, but it really doesn't fit my style... I think. I am not sure what my style is, I can't see it, but I know what is not me, and even though I love fantasy settings and style, I find these pages very pretty, I can't do it myself. It is the same with the minimalist style. For example, I loooove what Dunia can create, her style is amazing and so clean, but when I try it myself... it doesn't work. So, I am still trying to figure out my style, anyone knows? hehehe

Here is the original photo:

I *have* to stop scrapping these photos of Lucas, listen to me, do what I tell you but don't do what I do, do NOT scrap more than two pages of the same series of photos or you will end up in the situation I am in at the moment, where I still want to scrap a couple more pages for 2008 but am already way over the 100 page limit, which means I will have to chose some pages to not make to the album. and I still wanted to scrap these two photos:

Will I ever learn? :)

In other news, I am still sick, but a little better, like, I can stay out of bed, and we did go out for brunch today, so that's good...

oh, and Happy Fourth of July to my American friends, hope you have an amazing day of celebrations :)

See you guys tomorrow with Pencil Lines :)

by michellefilo 28. June 2009 15:14

Sketch 141 is live at the Pencil Lines blog and here is this week's free template:

PencilLines_141_preview

Here is my page with this week's sketch, I turned it 90 degrees counter clockwise so I could use this photo of Mateus that I love :)

IMG_2526

A little close up of the handmade embellishments made with the Summer Soiree and Delight Stamp sets:

IMG_2521

and I just loooove the look of the See Through letters lightly inked with acrylic paint. It was so easy to do and so effective:

Everything from Fancy Pants: Delight papers and buttons and the new Kraft Kuts die cut paper in the background.

Hope you like my page and that the digi girls have fun with the template, I might use it soon myself :) Have a great week!

OLW: GOOD and some eye candy

by michellefilo 23. June 2009 07:09

And then, there was this page for the One little Word prompt this week: good:

01_goodtimes copy

The prompt really inspired me and I could do a whole album if I had the time, but I already made a mini album of this trip. Actually, I made two mini albums (that reminds me, it can be the hybrid feature this week!) Anyway, back to the topic... I don't have the time :) so even though I have more than enough photos to make like, 5 albums, I decided to restrain myself and just make a matching page:

01_littlexplorer copy

Now my 2008 albums is almost ready :) I just really need to scrap some pages of Mateus' birthday. In the pages above I made my own life easier and used my new Playing with Paper Set as a starting point for both pages... I love seeing how a template can turn into something completely different.

Now, you notice the BEAUTIFUL kit above? The wonderfully crafted, yummy alphas? This is the new collab: Capture the Moment by Kate Hadfield and Designs by Lili. Like, on a personal level, these are truly two of my favourite people in digiland and I do create a lot with their designs just because I LOVE everything they do, and love them just because they are gorgeous people too :)

Anywho!

They created a big problem for me, I should be working on my new designs and I just can't stop scrapping with this kit LOL seriously, it is driving me crazy :) I have made two more pages using this kit, inspired by the Hodge Podge Art blog prompt to scrap an emotion:

content copy

After the first was done, I could not resist making another one (using my templates again):

happyhappyjoyjoy

and just to prove the addiction... I created another one:

I figured I have two options now, I have to either delete this kit from my hard drive, or succumb to this love and create a whole album with it :) LOL

xoxo

Pencil Lines Sketch 138

by michellefilo 7. June 2009 15:28

New sketch at the Pencil Lines blog, go have a peek at the amazing inspiration!!! For the digi girls, our free template this week:

PencilLines_138copy

and here is my page inspired by the sketch:

***removed for publication***

I am delighting myself with the latest Fancy Pants goodies. They arrived just after I got back from Brazil and I am still sorting through everything. In this page I have used papers from the On a Whimsy Collection by Jackie Eckles, Ribbon from the Delight Collection, the Felt mat is from the Bracket Mixed Media book; and the alpha is a mix of the Lotsa Letters and Say it Simple 12x12 Chipboard. Tree from RiffRaff Designs, I got this one from being the Pencil Lines reader's gallery winner for July 2008. After that Anna invited me to be part of the team.. and I was ever soooo happy!! So, about time I used my little tree hehehe

Here are a couple of close ups:

Had a little adventure with the sewing machine too :)

I have to show you guys the rest of this "photo session" with Mateus last month, we loved it :)

Mix it Up - Mixer # 17

by with love by mushy 30. April 2009 06:08

Hello fellow scrappers, family, friends and ... curious people ;) Mix it up this week was brought by yours truly and I obviously had no idea what I am doing LOL but I have always loved the look of mixed alphas and I am just too lazy to do it myself so I needed the push. Here is my page:

IMG_9792 copy

The title on this page has a big mixture of chipboard alphas, sticker alphas, and rub ons.

and "just because", here is a matching page:

IMG_9787

This collection is my "new" favourite from Fancy Pants: The Daily Grind by Michelle Coleman.

Thanks for stopping by, see you around :)

Mix it Up - Mixer # 15

by with love by mushy 15. April 2009 23:20

Mix it up # 15 is live. This week we had a fun play with background papers. The challenge was to create a base pattern paper without the use of cardstock. I thought this was a perfect opportunity for experimenting with transparencies, but I found them to be too feeble. So I got a sheet of acetate and cut it 8x8. I painted it with acrylic paint and while the paint was still wet I stamped with a round acrylic stamp and the effect was that the acrylic stamp removed the paint from the acetate sheet.

I also wanted to follow Day's sketch, and to make it MUCH easier on me I did the photo and journaling bits digitally, using the Back to Reality collab.

The papers coordinate perfectly with Fancy Pant's About a boy collection, so I added more papers, ribbons and diecuts from that collection, also the rough and tough buttons and Bright Alpha rubons. Here is the end result:

IMG_9756 copy

This was SUPER hard to photograph because with most angles you could not see the transparent effect. But when I placed it just next to the window it kinda worked:

Hope you like this page idea and play along with us this week :)

************************

I met a couple of online friends in real life today, and saw some of them for the second time. It is so surreal!!! Great thing but it was done in a bit of a rush so I look forward to having more time to catch up with them some day, and one on one would be cool too. But it was great while it lasted (the kids are too cute). Promisse to get some photos and pages posted when I get some time :)
