OLW: invincible

by michellefilo 16. September 2009 07:17

Quick page share for the One Little Word challenge blog, the prompt this week is invincible:

invincible copy

Created with my new kit and paper pack :D

My boys are soft little things, they don't think they are invincible at all, so I was at a loss for this word prompt until I saw the quote “In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer” by Albert Camus. LOVE it! I was going to scrap a photo of myself, but I have so many cute photos of Matty I want to scrap I ended up using his. Can someone please convince me to stop taking these "just for fun" photos? I have too many to scrap now LOL delicious photos xoxo

I think it turned out pretty fun:) and if you do get the music stuck in your head for a week like I did, I apologise LOL Here you go:

Hybrid Feature + OLW: play

by with love by mushy 12. August 2009 22:46

I have been invited to play along with the wordsters this week, wheeee. Not that I don't always play whenever I can but it was great to find out the word ahead of time so I could create a more involved project and also because it rocks to see myself featured among such talent in that blog :) And the word prompt this week could not be better: PLAY.

Here is the mini album I have put together using my CD Album template and Sunny Afternoon kit:

American Crafts's thickers, making memories ribbons, doddlebug buttons, epson paper,  I think that's all the supplies :)

Oh, I found a new little friend for this project, a white gel pen....  had fun playing with it. I highlighted the title and made flowers and butterfly trails with it. Here is how I created one of the flowers.

easy peasy right? added the button with a glue dot.

and lets not forget the doodlebug buttons, how fun is this mess:

I am always worried my stash won't be enough, lol For the frosted and transparent buttons I didn't use glue dots I used Bostick glu tack, highly recommend it, dries completely clear.

wow, that is *a lot* of photos for one post, sorry about that! Just two more images, promise! You know NOTHING goes to waste with me right :) so here are the quickpages and printable version of my album:

OLW: Joy

by michellefilo 4. July 2009 03:53

For the one little word prompt this week: Joy.

joy

Everything by CD Muckosky except background paper by Michelle Coleman.

Now, I think this page is cute, but it really doesn't fit my style... I think. I am not sure what my style is, I can't see it, but I know what is not me, and even though I love fantasy settings and style, I find these pages very pretty, I can't do it myself. It is the same with the minimalist style. For example, I loooove what Dunia can create, her style is amazing and so clean, but when I try it myself... it doesn't work. So, I am still trying to figure out my style, anyone knows? hehehe

Here is the original photo:

IMG_2237

I *have* to stop scrapping these photos of Lucas, listen to me, do what I tell you but don't do what I do, do NOT scrap more than two pages of the same series of photos or you will end up in the situation I am in at the moment, where I still want to scrap a couple more pages for 2008 but am already way over the 100 page limit, which means I will have to chose some pages to not make to the album. and I still wanted to scrap these two photos:

IMG_2238

IMG_2239

Will I ever learn? :)

In other news, I am still sick, but a little better, like, I can stay out of bed, and we did go out for brunch today, so that's good...

oh, and Happy Fourth of July to my American friends, hope you have an amazing day of celebrations :)

See you guys tomorrow with Pencil Lines :)

OLW: GOOD and some eye candy

by michellefilo 23. June 2009 07:09

And then, there was this page for the One little Word prompt this week: good:

01_goodtimes copy

The prompt really inspired me and I could do a whole album if I had the time, but I already made a mini album of this trip. Actually, I made two mini albums (that reminds me, it can be the hybrid feature this week!) Anyway, back to the topic... I don't have the time :) so even though I have more than enough photos to make like, 5 albums, I decided to restrain myself and just make a matching page:

01_littlexplorer copy

Now my 2008 albums is almost ready :) I just really need to scrap some pages of Mateus' birthday. In the pages above I made my own life easier and used my new Playing with Paper Set as a starting point for both pages... I love seeing how a template can turn into something completely different.

Now, you notice the BEAUTIFUL kit above? The wonderfully crafted, yummy alphas? This is the new collab: Capture the Moment by Kate Hadfield and Designs by Lili. Like, on a personal level, these are truly two of my favourite people in digiland and I do create a lot with their designs just because I LOVE everything they do, and love them just because they are gorgeous people too :)

Anywho!

They created a big problem for me, I should be working on my new designs and I just can't stop scrapping with this kit LOL seriously, it is driving me crazy :) I have made two more pages using this kit, inspired by the Hodge Podge Art blog prompt to scrap an emotion:

content copy

After the first was done, I could not resist making another one (using my templates again):

happyhappyjoyjoy

and just to prove the addiction... I created another one:

pictureperfect copy

I figured I have two options now, I have to either delete this kit from my hard drive, or succumb to this love and create a whole album with it :) LOL

xoxo

One Little Word: YES

by michellefilo 22. June 2009 03:36

Better late than never? hehehe My page for the YES prompt from a couple of weeks ago:

***removed for publication***

This was a lot of fun to put together. It was also for a Miss Fancy Pants Blog Product Feature showcasing the On a Whimsy journaling notebooks (this new kind of product is awesome!) I used On a Whimsy Papers and buttons but also a Transparent die cut "left over". Love the look and texture it added to my page :) Here is a close up:

***removed for publication***

Working on my "good" word as I type, check back soon!

Mix it Up - Mixer # 13

by michellefilo 3. April 2009 01:34

The Mix it up challenge this week is to be inspired but Dr. Seuss. Check it out here.

I also got inspired by the One Little Word Challenge this week, prompt word is READY. (I haven't had much time to play with the OLW prompts, I miss it)

I love Dr. Seuss, I use his quotes a lot and I have a couple of the books. The quote I picked is perfect for my brother, for this moment in his life. I missed the "?" in the title though, I should have "are you ready?" in there but got lazy LOL

I had the quote and the photos and started a very quirky page that reminded me of the illustrations on the Dr.Seuss books, but the page didn't go with the photos at all. So I had a quick look for more manly *cool* kits and I found this awesome "Back to Reality" kit at Little Dreamer Designs. It is a collab but I have to give credit to Lori that created the papers I used, she makes just the BEST punk/street/cool looking papers, love her work. Oh, so much talking LOL, here is my page:

outforpublication copy

I also used my Paper piecing alpha and star templates, and Jackie Eckles' doodly font (mm, I think I use this one a lot too).

Isn't he cute? He is single, you know :)

some older pages

by michellefilo 12. February 2009 01:18

I haven't scrapped for a week and it feels like months LOL But there are no lack of projects to display here on the blog. If I stopped scrapping right now and started blogging only once a week I would still have enough photos and projects to last me a year. But we all know I am not stopping any time soon :)

I wanted to post two pages the flickr drama didn't let me post. I am slowly trying to make up for that week LOL

I haven't even posted these at Digishoptalk yet, but their server has been slow, so it is hard to post there at the moment (good reminder to share it here!).

First this one I created for the OLW prompt: START

as usual, I created a little "pair" for it, and it was for a digi dare but I got sidetracked with it (but you know, was still inspired by them!)

both pages created with an amazing kit I really love by Dúnia and Amanda called Let's go (click on image for credits).

*****************

I got called from work today to pick up Mateus at school because he "was unwell and wet his pants". It turns out it was a little more complicated than that. His asthma was playing up and I feel REALLY bad I didn't leave the puffer and an action plan for them. I have done it for the pre-school and because it was all in the same place I thought they would automatically know what to do.... they didn't. Luckily he wasn't too bad and even though I took an hour to get there he was fine when I arrived.

I took him home and decided he was sick enough to give him steroids (I only do that when I feel it is either the hospital or steroids). Now he is much better but REALLY tired. I am thinking we will stay home tomorrow.

At least it was nothing serious and now we are going to be more prepared. I will leave and action plan and puffer at school. Hopefully this will avoid him getting to this stage again.

Pencil Lines Sketch 118

by michellefilo 18. January 2009 10:25

Thanks so much for the great response to my little corner. So good I am not even going to bother going back to my other blog too much. What about we get straight into a routine and let me point you to the latest Pencil Lines Sketch and free template? I have so much to catch up on :)

Sketch 118 by our guest Asa Bergstrand:

(and you can click on the image to download the free template)

Here is my page for this week’s sketch, very much inspired by my whole situation and the way my husband helped me up :) It was also triggered by the One Little Word prompt this week: EMBRACE. Without this inspiration I wouldn’t have participated this week.

Everything by Fancy Pants Design - Crush paper collection and transparent die cuts and alphas.

Once again, thanks for stopping by!
